The laboratory is certified by the ISRAC Laboratory Accreditation Authority to the high standard of ISO/IEC 17025, as published on the ISRAC Website.
In addition, the laboratory has a permit from the Commissioner of Standardization at the Ministry of Economics and Industry to examine and issue certificates of inspection for petroleum products (oils, diesel fuel, grease, etc.).
The certification includes also the provision of an appraisal report and its interpretation. The laboratory performs physical tests, such as the measurement of kinematic viscosity, water content in oil, total acidity, total basicity, and wear metals and additives content using the spectrometer method, as well as flash point and breakout voltage tests and many other tests for oils, greases, and diesel fuels.
It is customary to perform these tests for hydraulic oils, air compressors, refrigerating compressors/chillers, transformers, turbines, generators, and industrial motors and gear systems.
Performing these tests allows a reduction in unnecessary oil changes, thus allowing the usage time of oil to be extended, often long beyond that recommended by the oil/machine supplier, without incurring any risk.
